The Tastiest Mexican Restaurants in Moline, IL

Residents at LeClaire Apartments in Moline have a wide variety of great restaurants serving Mexican food. The restaurants specialize in South-of-the-Border cuisine using local ingredients. 


El Mariachi 

Located at 1317 15th St. in Moline, El Mariachi tops the list for authentic home-style Mexican food. This family-owned restaurant has been a part of Moline for 22 years, featuring three different types of buffets along with take-out meals. They serve traditional dishes, including chile rellenos and pollo con mole. In addition, they offer buffets on Wednesday, Saturday, and at the Sunday brunch. The El Mariachi food truck can be seen at various festivals and concerts around town. They also cater parties and other events.

Coya's Cafe and Grill 

This woman-owned restaurant is located at 4320 4th Avenue in Moline. The cafe serves breakfast all day, along with lunch and dinner specialties. "Cooking Con Amor" is the slogan for Coya's Cafe and Grill.  The Birria tacos are one of the many specialties that have won awards. These taco treats are available every Tuesday. The daily specials include a complimentary can of soda. Other specials include tortas on Monday and Burritos on Wednesday. Outdoor seating is available. The cafe also offers a take-out menu. 


Los Agaves 

Los Agaves Mexican Grill is located at 3939 16th St. in Moline.  Los Agaves Mexican Grill has been one of the top choices for Mexican cuisine in Moline, Rock Island, and the Quad Cities area since 2014. The menu features a wide range of dishes, including fajitas, salads, burritos, and more, complemented by a full bar. The restaurant is named for the agave plant used to make tequila.

Cisco's Mexican Bar and Grill 

The restaurant is located at 2131 5th Ave. in Moline. Cisco's Mexican Bar and Grill takes online orders and delivers in the Moline area. This is another family-owned restaurant in downtown Moline that uses local, fresh ingredients. Their specialties include grilled tacos, grilled shrimp on skewers, and a special chicken and rice dish. 


Adolph's Mexican Food 

This restaurant is located in East Moline at 4030 Kennedy Drive. Adolph's Mexican Food opened in 1952 by Adolph and Louise Perez as El Sombrero. It has become a Quad Cities landmark known for delicious and authentic dishes. Adolph and Louise's children, John Perez and Leslie Carter continue to run the family business.  

The restaurant also has a complete catering program with an open taco bar and several party trays available. The trays can include jalapeno poppers, spicy chicken wings, and beans and rice. They also offer trays of tacos, enchiladas, and chimis, or a Fiesta Tray that offers enchiladas, taquitos, wings, poppers, and mini tacos with sour cream and guacamole.  A Fiesta Dip tray has beans and chorizo dip, sour cream, peppers, and chips. 

 

Habanero’s Mexican Cuisine 

Habanero’s Mexican Cuisine is located at 4500 16th St. in the South Park Mall.  The restaurant offers catering as well as dining in the mall. Specialties include enchiladas and chicken dishes. Habanero’s also has a special area for groups.

Rudy's Tacos 

Rudy's Tacos has two locations: 2404 16th St. in Moline and 2726 18th Ave. in Rock Island.  Rudy's Tacos has been a Quad Cities Mexican tradition since 1973.  Rudy and Marilyn Quijas opened the inaugural Rudy's Tacos in the Village of East Davenport as one of the first Mexican dining establishments in the Quad Cities area.  Rudy's has remained true to its origins by keeping its signature recipes, including the Loaded Cheese Crisp and an original "Brudy's" lager handcrafted by Bent River Brewing Company. 

Brothers Rich and Jack Yeargle opened the Moline and Rock Island locations in 1979, and they offer the very best Mexican dishes with fresh ingredients. 


Historic Moline Building 

LeClaire Apartments in Moline is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. As a hotel, it hosted many famous guests. It was converted to an apartment building in 1993 with one, two, and three-bedroom units. It is located in downtown Moline with easy access to all communities in the Quad Cities area.
